We are seeking a chef for our location in Woodstock that is a team player and leader, passionate about food and hospitality, brings a positive warm attitude to the restaurant, and is creative and thoughtful with food.
Description of Responsibilities
Write and execute menu appropriate to ethos of Millstream in conjunction with Owners and
Management.
Plan and execute special events and menus for Golf Club or private parties with FOH Management.
Manage inventory: estimate weekly inventory need, place orders, receive and check deliveries.
Coordinate with management on Toast maintenance/menu updates, scheduling and new hires.
Ensure Kitchen R&M is up to date in conjunction with Office support.
Work with Operations on: Plate costing, inventory assistance, COGS and Purchase to Sales reporting, XtraChef Training
Review financial information such as daily, weekly and monthly sales and adjust menu mix as needed.
Food costs of goods (30%) and labor (30% blended, 17% BOH) to ensure adherence to budgets in Xtrachef each week as provided.
Educate and work with front of house staff on menu changes—supplying menu descriptions and informing staff of all allergy and dietary issues.
Educate and train BOH staff on plate specs, cooking techniques, and consistent production of established standards
Introduction of new menu items--costing out items/tasting and getting them approved/staff training information and menu descriptions distributed pre-item rollout.
Working the line as needed for service, including training of line cooks.
Expediting service, driving service flow and maintaining quality control over the food served.
Processing invoices through XtraChef in a timely manner (Invoices processed daily, entered no later than Sunday each week).
Completing end of month inventory as scheduled in XtraChef.
Direct employee hiring, assignment, training and scheduling as business needs require.
